What is your role at Monarch Quantum?

I lead Talent Acquisition at Monarch Quantum, but my role goes well beyond traditional recruiting. I think of myself as a talent marketing strategist, a relationship builder, and the critical bridge connecting hiring managers, candidates, and the broader organization. My goal is to make sure every person who comes into contact with Monarch Quantum walks away with a genuine sense of who we are and what we stand for. Like everyone here, I wear many hats. At a company like Monarch, versatility is part of the culture, and I’m always ready to step in wherever I’m needed most.

What makes for a great employee at Monarch Quantum?

I’ve always believed that the best employees don’t just perform, they make the people around them better. At Monarch, we lead with a servant-leadership mindset, putting people first and building an environment where everyone feels supported and valued. That’s not just a philosophy we talk about; it’s something you feel from day one. We show up every day to tackle extraordinarily hard problems at the cutting edge of technology, and we show up for each other. The people here are incredibly thoughtful, deeply talented, and bring a level of expertise that continues to inspire me.

What is the most challenging aspect of what you do?

The greatest challenge in recruitment is staying person-focused while managing the pace that a fast-growing company demands. I do my best to approach every interaction with empathy, knowing this opportunity can have a real impact on someone’s livelihood. The most challenging moments are the noes where I have to let a candidate know they won’t be moving forward. Every candidate deserves respect, understanding, and kindness — and I want each person to genuinely feel seen and valued throughout the process.

When you aren’t working, what are you doing?

I love spending as much time as possible with my family, including my wife Maria, who is an amazing teacher in San Diego. We love walking our Clumber Spaniel, Zuma, and attending any San Diego State sporting events. Go Aztecs!
